The author
C. A. Powell is a British author writing Victorian science-fiction pastiche and historical and war fiction. His flagship work is the six-book Victorian War of the Worlds Adaptations series, a set of literary pastiches set in 1898 that explore the Martian invasion of Britain through the eyes of those who fought, endured, and survived.
Alongside the saga he writes the three-book Modest Conflict Series of WWI and WWII military fiction, and several standalone historical novels spanning the Dark Ages, the First World War, the Irish War of Independence, and dark fantasy. His writing is recognised by readers as well-researched and character-driven, favouring the measured, human voice of ordinary people caught in extraordinary events.
